As you prepare for the year set some new goals before your and new outlook on how to approach life. After having a break from school, now is a good time to re-evaluate how to get into the swing of study and classes. Here are some ways that you can start to plan all of this out.
1. Stay Organized
Planning out your schedule is a great way to be able to visually organize your time. Using a journal or scheduler is a great way to do this, as these can give you space to be able to add more details for specific things that need to be organized. It also helps to prepared well in advance for assignments, placements and exams.
2. Pre-Read.
Prereading material that is given to you is going to help your understanding of what you will be working on. This does not mean read all your texts books cover to cover but go over key points of what you will be learning. This will also help you to know the questions you may need to ask, securing a firm grasp of the content.
3. Gather Your Tools.
Make sure you have all the materials and tools you will need for the semester. As silly as it may seem, having all your pens and pencils organized before you start back, as well as having your lotions, sheets, towels, scrub tops and any other necessities for in the classroom/practical room ready can greatly the stress of start back at college.
4. Stay Connected.
Connect with those in class that you are able to study with in the lead up to first class. Plan how you will be studying with them to ensure that you are set up for when its time to be doing that hard grind. Having study aids like flash cards, anatomical charts and markers/highlighters are also great ways to help you cement what you are working on into the memory banks.
Coming into the year with a positive mindset and a well prepared plan is above all going to help start back up at college. These are only a few ways that you can get ready for the new year.
